Clothes that aren't made of meat? Without bloodshed? So technically most clothes available? No.

This is as beautiful an illusion can get. The clothes most of us - you and I wear are made with certain materials, these materials are acrylic, wool, nylon, fur, silk, leather, spandex, etc.

Now, these garments are not just harming the environment irreversibly but also using fossil fuels and animal skin like there's no tomorrow. Animals are solely farmed and cattles are taken care for their skin. The demand in the market is what encourages the producers to produce more. Vegan clothes are items of clothing that use materials that aren't sourced from any living being- dead or alive. With the rise of Fast Fashion, the industry to keep up with the changing trends farms more animals which requires more land, more water and food supplies which in addition to hurting living, breathing beings also hugely damages our environment and eventually us.

This rise in demand makes producers acquire land illegally and in some cases even burn down entire forests to keep up and cater to the image you want to create at the dinner party tonight. Purchasing long lasting vegan clothes void of all these elements also supports ethical production and fair trade and urges production of clothes made from animal skin to slow down and eventually come to a stop. One of the most common item of clothing made of animal skin is leather. Leather along with fur are forcibly obtained from animals by skinning them, there is no ethical way to source genuine leather without trading a life that's not yours to begin with. It's not simply made by cattle skin but dogs and cats too along with snake, goat, kangaroos and many more.

Most of our clothes come from China and there are two million cats and dogs killed for their meat and skin in China every year. While it may not be legal where you live but it is there. The ecological damage production of leather causes has hit a different high. While we literally wear chemicals, there are workers living in extremely bad conditions who have to bear the wrath of producing these materials all through their life. Fashion without guilt is way better than the cute but toxic fur coat.
The 3 most affordable brands that I've found from thousands which offer good quality vegan and ethical clothing options are: 1. Vegan Outfitters veganoutfitters.com

2. No Nasties nonasties.in
